đừng quên lời xứ mẹ
nhìn giàu sang quê họ

nơi thời đông tiết giá

bước trên đường Tự Do
dưới màu cờ Dân Chủ
em hãy cầm biểu ngữ
và hét thật to
thay cho người bị câm tiếng.

hãy nhớ và hãy nhớ
những bàn tay siết chặt hôm nay
là bởi những gì hôm qua đã mất
và cho những gì sẽ thấy lại ở ngày mai.

and in a safe harbour after a calm boat voyage,
do remember those tossed by winds and waves.

at places with cold and freezing climes,
don’t forget that over there in our old country.
we did have a resplendent sun
coursing inside our blood lines.

Please
while marching on the Freedom Road,
under the banner of Democracy,
with banderoles holden high,
do shout at the top of your lungs
on behalf of those with silenced voices.

Please
do remember and bear in mind
that these to-day’s tightly closed hands
are caused by the losses of yesterday
for the sake of tomorrow’s back gains.
